MEWP – Scissor and Boom Training

Any person operating a MEWP – Mobile Elevating Work Platform – is required to be trained on the safe use of the equipment, associated hazards and regulations. This course is based on current CSA and ANSI standards and focuses on Type 3A and 3B lifts which are commonly referred to as Scissor Lifts and Boom Lifts. Our program is broken down into two main modules. Basic Theory and Practical Equipment.

The basic theory module discusses common hazards, controls, and introduces the learner to the basics of fall protection as it applies to MEWP’s and covers regulations and standards.

The practical equipment module focuses on the application and use of MEWP’s, their components, and their limitations. Learners must demonstrate how to inspect the equipment, familiarize and operate the equipment under direct supervision. These are performance outcomes and must be achieved successfully.
